The New American Academy has one teaching slot available for the 2012-13 school year. We are accepting applications for the Partner and Associate positions. This application is the first step in a interview process that includes a phone interview, school visit, group interview, panel interview, and demo lesson. For our Associate Teacher position, we are looking for candidates with at least two years of teaching experience, while Partner Teacher candidates should have at least three years of teaching experience. Applicants from inside and outside the NYC Department of Education are welcome. Please be aware that the position includes an intensive training component over the course of the summer.
Please see this page for more information about job description. Associate Teachers receive a $60,000 salary plus full union benefits; Partner Teacher salaries range from $75,000-105,000 plus benefits. Summer training is compensated at the NYCDOE per-training rate.
